This document will outline the information regarding the terms and conditions of campervan conversions.
1.Payment
1a. For an Enna build or an Andrewella build a 20% deposit is required to be paid to secure your build slot to be paid upfront before any work is carried out.
1b. For the Enna or Andrewella build approximately 2 weeks before your build start date all extras must be confirmed. Payment of the extras and 30% of the cost must be paid no later than a week before your build start date, before work can be started. Then 50% to be paid on completion.
1c. Payments to be made by bank transfer.
1d. The build slot will not be secure or booked in until the deposit is received.
1e. On completion of your build or work carried out on your van full payment must be made immediately.
1f. If payment isn’t made on completion of the build, we AMC Campers will hold the vehicle on our premises until payment is made and have the right to sell the vehicle cover the costs or even legal action may be taken.
1g. Any extras or upgrades requested and not paid for will not be done.
2. Contract of building work – the conversion
2a. Once the deposit is paid you the customer will be sent a copy of the outlined terms and conditions which will need to be signed and the contact is then formed. These terms and conditions can be updated by AMC Campers at anytime which would be sent via email
2b. An approximate start date and completion date will be given to you once deposit is paid. This can be change, give and take a week due to other builds before your build taking longer.
2c. Around 2 to 4 weeks of your build start date AMC will contact you to discuss designs, colours and ideas regarding your build.
2d. When work has already started there will be instances where we cannot change your requirements to the build – if the changes are possible these will need to be requested via email.
2e. Any requests to change or adapt from the original build plans you must contact AMC as soon as possible via telephone 07950582995
2f. Any extra costing for changes will be required to be paid.
2g. If your van or funds are not ready for the build start date, we need to know as soon as possible, and your build start date can be changed to another date. This could be up to 12months after your original start date depending on other bookings.
2h. We don’t use customer supplied parts for any of the conversion work. All parts used in the conversion work are supplied and fitted by AMC.
2i. Due to the nature of the service any build that has been confirmed with AMC Campers cannot be cancelled less than 30 days before your build start date. In certain circumstances the build can be cancelled less than 30 days of your original start date however, costs may apply for materials etc that has already been purchased
2j. We AMC Campers have the right to terminate contract with the customer when there are circumstances out of our control and any payments will be returned to the customers.
2k. Once a build is started, we have up until the date that is put on your invoice to complete the conversion. If the work is completed earlier, we will contact you to advise. Due to circumstances out of our control such as staff illness, holidays and suppliers the completion of the build may run over the given completion date on your invoice.
2l. Where there are parts no longer available to changes to suppliers AMC Campers may need to make changes to the build. We will notify customers as soon as possible to the changes to the build. If they are any additional costs this will be passed onto the customer.
2m. We will confirm the price of the conversion and any extras and upgrades via email.
2n. Discussions of your build will commence around 2-4 weeks prior to your build start date. This will be done via telephone, an appointment at our workshop or messaging apps.
2o. All quotes for build work are accurate at the time of quote. Due to circumstances out of our control such as inflation, cost of materials and changes in suppliers the overall price may change which will be passed onto the customer.
2p. Any changes requested by the customer before their conversion starts which is not in line with our signature layouts will be refused and your conversion cancelled with us. The deposit would be refunded if cancelled no less than 4 weeks of the build start date.
2q. Any changes requested by the customer that are not in line with our signature build once work has commenced on your vehicle will be refused. The customer can either agree to the signature layout upon booking their conversion or cancel. No refund would be given due work already carried out by us and purchase of supplies.
3.Warranty
3a. All full conversion builds that are built by AMC Campers come with a 12-month warranty with us this is for the craftmanship.
3b.This excludes any natural oak worktop or tables as these need to be maintained and look after by the customer.
3c. This excludes freezing of all pipe work and tanks inside and outside the van which must be drained down in colder climates.
3d. This excludes any moisture of damp issues. All our conversions are fitted with a vapour barrier and insulation. How the campervan is used and stored impacts the moisture and damp within your campervan.
3e. Where the customer has supplied their own vehicle for any camper conversion or build work AMC Campers are not liable for any damages or faults regarding that vehicle.
3f. We AMC Campers are not liable for any accidental damage or misuse of parts or the camper conversion build work.
3g. The warranty for the conversion will be void if any of the parts within the conversion are changed, replaced, modified or tampered with by you the customer or another conversion company. This includes any electrical equipment, heating equipment or any fixtures.
3h. Should this happen and there becomes a fault with any of the conversion we will not be liable to fix or replace the item or problem.
3i. For any faults with the camper conversion build work we require you to contact us as a soon as any faults occur so that we can discuss the matter. Contact must be made via telephone. The faults or defects would need to be investigated by AMC Campers. If the investigations find that defects or faults are a result of misuse, poor maintenance or care or storage of the campervan the warranty would be void and AMC would not be liable to fix or replace the parts or defects. You the customer must be prepared to bring the campervan back to our premises. We AMC do not collect campervans due to insurance purposes.
3j. AMC Campers are not liable for any damages, theft or damages from weather conditions whilst your vehicle is on our premises.
3k. This includes All vans that are supplied by you the customer for AMC Campers to convert into a campervan. They must be insured by your own policy while building work is taking place on our premises at unit 2, 193a Quarmby Road.
3l. We can advise on the best vehicle for your conversion. AMC Campers will not be liable for any repairs, servicing or damage to the vehicle you purchase
3m. Any vehicles sourced for your conversion will be made by our sister company and not AMC Campers. AMC Campers will not be liable for repairs, damages or servicing on this vehicle. Payments and terms and conditions of that vehicle would be made with our sister company.
3n. If you choose to hire out your campervan within the first 12 months of the conversion the warranty will be void
4. Collection of campervan
4a. On completion your vehicle must be collected within 24 hours
4b. All customers are required to check the van, so it is satisfactory, and everything is as they wanted.
4c. We cannot store any vans on site for longer than 24 hours.
4d. Where the vehicle isn’t collected within 24 hours, we are not liable after this time for damage or losses.
4e. Charges will incur for storage after 24 hours of completion of the build.
4f. Once the final payment has been made and you have not collected the campervan, we are not responsible or liable for the campervan.
5. Customer responsibilities
5a. The van must be dropped off in a state for us to start the conversion on the start due date. The inside must be stripped out including all panels and floor, clean and any rust dealt with. The outside must be clean and the roof. If the van is dropped off with us in an unfit state this will delay your build start date and costs will incur and even refusal of the conversion.
5b. Customer must ensure their van is insured with their own policy for the tine it is on our premises and throughout the conversion process.
We have AMC Campers have the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be immediately updated on the website and communication will be made to customers that are booked in for a conversion.
